FOR EDITING
First things first! Make sure to get the classcode from your teacher. And here's how you can access your class inside Edmodo. The following instructions are for first time Edmodo users.
Go to edmodo.com.
Click sign up.
You will be asked what type of account you are signing up for. Choose student.
Select your country. Then click next.
You will then be asked for your class code to be given to you by your teacher or your school code from your Admin.
Select sign up for FREE button to complete the process.
You can also check your email as your teacher might have sent you an invite link in joining your class instead of providing a class code.
To always be updated with the activities done in your class, including the assignments, always check Posts on your class page.
Go to edmodo.com.
Log in to your account and go to the specific class in which the assignment belongs to.
Click on Filter posts by. You can find it directly under the Start a discussion text box.
A dropdown box will appear. Click on Assignments.
Look for the assignment. Click Open and start answering! Good luck!
Inside Edmodo, you can directly submit your assignment to your teacher! You can either Create your submission directly in Edmodo or Attach a file from your computer or a link from Web.
From time to time, your teachers will engage you in a virtual class, a synchronous activity just like in face to face classes. Although there is no built in feature for this in Edmodo, your teachers can use the LMS to keep you updated, typically in newsfeed or in calendar, about the links to external platform in which these can take place. It can be facilitated in Zoom, Google Meet, or Skype. In live-video streams, your teachers will be able to share learning materials with you and have discussions real time. It is also possible that you do reporting in these classes!
Go to edmodo.com.
Log in to your account and go to the specific class you need to join.
There are few ways to join live-video streams depending on how your teacher set it up:
Stream through Calendar
Go to the Calendar tab.
Select the class you want to join.
Click on the event on your calendar.
Click on the link in the event notes. The link should take you to a live-video stream platform (e.g. Zoom, Google Meet, or Skype).
Stream through Announcement post
Go to Posts
Find your teacher’s post about having a live-video stream. Click the link. It should take you to a live video stream platform (e.g. Zoom, Google Meet, or Skype). It’s best to make sure that you are accessing the right link.
Folders
Go to Folders in the class menu on the right.
Click on the specific folder which may contain the link to the live-video stream.
Find the link and click on it. It should take you to a live video stream platform (e.g. Zoom, Google Meet, or Skype).
Communicating with your teachers and knowing how and where to do it are very important. Inside the Edmodo class you are taking, you can easily do this!
Go to the Messages tab.
Click on the pencil icon with a plus sign to create a new message.
Type the name of your teacher.
A chat box will appear. Type your message. You may even add emojis, link files you saved on Edmodo, and upload files from your computer.
If you want to go through your learning materials offline or you need to have access to a hardcopy of a worksheet provided by your teacher. Here’s the trick that you can do.
Go to Folders and open the topic with your desired material.
Find the file you need to download.
Click on the down arrow beside the date it was modified.
Click download.
You will be taken to a new tab. Depending on the file type, you can either download the file from here or it will automatically trigger a pop-up window which will allow you to download the file.
Great! Now, to have a hands on experience in using Edmodo and to get more acquainted with how your learning journey looks like, a sample class has been prepared for you to explore! Coordinate with your teachers and LMS administrators to gain access to this course. Have fun in learning!
