At the end of a year or a grading period, it is best practice to archive a Class or group because to preserve all the data and activities. Once archived, a Class or Group is inactive. Students can still view the Posts and send Direct Messages to the Teacher-owner and Co-Teachers, but they cannot post in the Class or Group or access shared Folders and Assignment and Quiz submissions. All data is saved, and you can easily view any Post. You can also restore an archived class/group any time to make it active again and view all content within the class.
In your Class Page, click the More or ··· icon on the right side of the group information panel.
Click Advanced Settings.
At the bottom of the popup menu that will appear, click Archive.
Click Yes to confirm.
To restore an archived Class or Group, follow these steps:
Point your mouse pointer on Classes in the top toolbar and click Class Management.
Click the More or ··· icon located in the top righthand corner.
Click View Archived Classes.
Click the Restore button to the right of the name of the Class or Group you would like to restore.
In the popup menu, click the Restore button to confirm you'd like the Class/Group restored.
Note: Once restored, the Class or Group will appear in your active list and all members of that Class/Group will also have restored access.
If you are sure you no longer need any of the activity, Assignments or Quizzes related to a Class or Group, you can permanently delete it.
In your Class Page, click the More or ··· icon on the right side of the group information panel.
Click Advanced Settings.
At the bottom of the popup menu that will appear, click Delete.
Click the red Yes or Delete button to confirm.
Note: It is recommended to archive rather than delete Classes or Groups
