Let’s get started with seeing how Classes work in Edmodo. Follow this interactive presentation:
There are plenty of ways you can set up your schedule on Edmodo: by period, subject, or using Small Groups.
Click on the More or ··· icon by the My Classes heading in the left-hand panel.
Select Create a Class.
Enter the name and short description of your class.
Select a grade level. If the class is offered to multiple grade levels, click Range and set the range of grade levels.
Select a Subject, a Sub-subject, and the color you want to assign for the class.
Once done, click Create.
If you have several sections of a Class that will have the same setup, you can create one Class and set it up and make copies of that Class instead of creating each one from scratch. The copies you will create will include all the Class or Group's Posts, Assignments, Quizzes, and other content.
Select a class under My Classes. Click the More or ··· icon on the left side of the Create button.
Click Advanced Settings.
At the bottom of the popup menu that will appear, click Copy Class.
If you do not want to copy any Posts or Files shared by co-teachers, uncheck the box beside, "Yes, I would also like to copy all of the Posts….”
Click Yes to confirm
Note: You may only copy Classes or Groups for which you are the owner. Be sure to update all due dates for Quizzes and Assignments in your newly copied Group.
What will be copied?
All Posts made by the Class or Group Owner or a co-teacher
Assignments, Quizzes, and Library Folders and Items
Content within Small Groups
Group Settings from the original Group
Note: Any post authored by a co-teacher will display as being authored by you as the owner of the newly copied Class or Group. Group Folders added by co-teachers will now appear in the Group Owner's Library.
What won't be copied?
Group Members (including other teachers and students), except you, the Group Owner. Invite and add new Students to your new Class or Group using the Group Invite box or by sharing your new Group Code.
All Posts created by Students
Posts from adult members of your Group who are not co-teachers
All Replies and Likes from Posts, regardless of the author.
Scheduled Posts
Snapshots
Group Copy effectively resets your Group, making it ready for a new class of students.
Quiz and Assignment due dates. When your Class or Group is copied, Quiz and Assignment will automatically have Due Dates but will be set based on forecast values. You will need to update these Due Dates to reflect your current grading period.
